James Bio

James Stanford Dear was born in Austin in 1978, a fifth generation Texan. He married Tracy Giammalvo in 1998 and at nearly 15 years of marriage they now have 5 children:

Claire, 11
Jackson, 9
Lily, 7
Nathan, 5
Joseph, 5 months

James was a Russian Linguist in the Air Force and served our country at the NSA at Fort George G Meade in Maryland.

After getting out of the military he had a number of landscape design jobs, drawing designs and overseeing their installation.

He also went to culinary school in Austin at Le Cordon Bleu. He really enjoyed fine-tuning his cooking skills, and we enjoyed eating the results!!

Here are the vows that I read to James on our wedding day, at Laguna Gloria Art Museum on July 26, 1998:
I know that God has made you especially for me, and has brought us together to fulfill His perfect plan for our lives. I covenant before God and these witnesses that like Ruth, I may say, "...where you go I will go; where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people and your God, my God." As your wife, I will devote myself to loving you and serving your needs, to comfort honor and keep you for better or for worse, in health or in time of sickness, in poverty or wealth, no matter where the Lord may lead us. I pledge myself to you, alone, forsaking all other claims to my love and fidelity, to have and to hold from this day forward through all the changing experiences of my life. It is my purpose to give you happiness and to join with you in making our home the fulfillment of the desires of our hearts, until God's plan for us is complete and I go to be with Him."

Whew! I so had no idea what I was in for!! I love you James!!

  3. I wanted to share a dream I had last night. In my dream, James was standing (!) with both arms raised praising God with complete abandon. His face was full of joy and awe and tears. I am fervently praying that God brings this to fruition! That James will be physically string and spiritually whole, leading others in worship.

I'm thinking about you all the time.
